Our Story
We started refurbito because we had a problem: We wanted to buy a refurbished iPhone, but nobody could tell us where to find the cheapest one.
Sounds trivial, right? But think about it. There's Refurbed, Back Market, Rebuy, Swappie, Asgoodasnew and a dozen other stores. Each one has different prices, different condition grades, different warranty terms. Who's supposed to keep track of all that?
So we started collecting prices in spreadsheets. For ourselves, to find the best deal. At some point, the spreadsheet became a website. And the website became refurbito.
That was 2024. Since then, we've been comparing prices across all major refurbished retailers in Germany and Austria.
Why Refurbished?
Every year, over 50 million tons of electronic waste ends up in landfills. That's more than the weight of all commercial aircraft ever built. Combined. Every single year.
Here's the crazy part: Most of these devices still work perfectly fine. They were just replaced because a newer model came out.

Refurbished means professionally restored. A refurbished device has been tested, cleaned, repaired if needed, and reset with fresh software. In the end, it often looks and works like new. Unlike used devices, a refurbished device goes through a controlled refurbishment process with quality checks.

A refurbished device goes through a professional process: it gets tested, cleaned, defective parts get replaced, software gets reset.
