iPhone 13 Refurbished Price Comparison: 31 Offers, One Phone, €226 Apart

We opened refurbed.de's public "all offers" view on 13 August 2026 from the German storefront, no account, and read off every offer attached to a single configuration ID. Fixed: model, storage, colour, SIM variant, cosmetic grade, battery grade. Free to vary: merchant, shipping country, delivery window, price. Seven of the 31 offers we also opened individually, and all seven stated the same 12 months of merchant warranty and the same box contents.

What we did not do is buy anything. Refurbito sells nothing and grades nothing. We read what sellers publish, with a date and a link on it, so you can check us.

The table shows 9 of the 31 offers from 13 August 2026: the five cheapest, the median offer, and the three dearest. The full list sits at refurbed. Every price includes shipping, as stated.

Behind those 31 offers sit 23 different merchants. Among the offers we opened individually, the phone shipped from Germany, Italy, Estonia, France and Poland (as of 13 August 2026).

If the spread came from the condition grade, it would flatten out in a different grade. It doesn't.

Same phone in cosmetic grade "Gut" (good) rather than "Sehr gut", same day: 23 offers between €260.50 and €500.00 (as of 13 August 2026). The cheapest shipped from the Netherlands, the dearest from Poland, and again every offer we checked stated 12 months of merchant warranty.

Here is the comparison that surprised us most while reading. Starting from "Gut", refurbed charged these premiums on 13 August 2026 for a better cosmetic grade: €14.49 for "Sehr gut", €39.49 for "Exzellent", €102.49 for "Premium/Wie neu". Two grades up cost roughly €102, then. The spread inside the single grade "Sehr gut" was €226.00 on the same day, more than double. On this day the merchant moved the price more than the condition did.

This is how refurbed describes its own cosmetic grades (wording from the product page, from that same day):

• Premium: screen and housing as new

• Exzellent: screen like new, housing with no scratches visible from close up

• Sehr gut: no scratches visible on the screen when switched on, minimal signs of use on the housing, visible from 30 cm

• Gut: no scratches visible on the screen when switched on, small scratches or dents on the housing

Those four definitions belong to refurbed. To nobody else. There is more on that in our piece on refurbished condition grades.

The price difference between refurbished sellers has more than one cause: here are the four we saw in this snapshot.

1. A marketplace is not a retailer

refurbed describes itself as a marketplace working with around 200 vetted partner merchants. The platform sets the floor, meaning admission criteria and a minimum of 12 months of warranty. Each merchant sets its own price. 23 merchants, 23 calculations, one listing.

2. Grade labels do not travel between sellers

This is where most comparisons quietly fall apart. The European Consumer Centre says it flatly: categories such as "gut" or "sehr gut" have "no general validity", and retailers can invent them freely. No standard sits underneath them that would let you measure two offers against each other.

3. Warranty and battery promises are priced in

Within refurbed both were identical across the offers we checked. Across sellers they aren't, and then you are weighing two fairly different packages that carry the same label. We go into that in our guides to warranty and statutory rights and to battery quality across platforms.

4. Marketplace or direct sale, and who is liable

With a marketplace offer your contract is with the merchant, not with the brand on the logo. The MediaMarkt listing for the iPhone 13 said so in plain text on 13 August 2026: sold and shipped by Bontalin OHG.

Look beyond refurbed and the pattern repeats for different reasons. All offers nominally "Sehr gut", iPhone 13 with 128 GB, as of 13 August 2026, colours varying by seller:

On how clean those numbers are: the rebuy figure comes from the category page with a condition filter, where colour isn't pinned down. The asgoodasnew figure follows from the €319.00 base price shown on the page minus the €40.00 grade discount.

Those percentages are the seller's stated listing threshold, not a measurement of the unit that turns up at your door. A phone promised at 80% or better may well arrive at 84%, and the seller has still kept its word.

The lowest price in that group carries 36 months of warranty. The highest carries the strictest battery promise and the weakest warranty promise. We won't hand out a verdict on which seller is "best", because we ran no test that would justify one.

Inside one platform, with the configuration held identical, scrolling on was worth real money on this day: the gap from the dearest to the cheapest offer beat the premium for moving up two condition grades, comfortably.

Across sellers the simple logic inverts. A lower price can just be a shorter warranty or a lower promised battery floor. Working out the price per warranty month tells you more than the amount does.

And this counts for more than any single figure above: the article is a snapshot taken on 13 August 2026, not a ranking and not a trend claim. Refurbished stock turns over daily, and the merchant sitting at the bottom of the list this Thursday may sit at the top tomorrow. What carries over is the size of the spread. Honestly, we expected it to be smaller. An iPhone 13 refurbished price comparison is worth repeating with every purchase, not just once: the ranking of sellers keeps shifting.
