We asked. You answered.

Over 2,000 votes in recent weeks. The question was simple: Which refurbished retailer do you prefer? The result surprised us. Not because of the winner, but because of the reasons people gave.

Why a Community Ranking?

We already have a detailed retailer comparison with facts, numbers, and test results. But numbers don't tell the whole story.

What actually matters to you? Is it the warranty length? Customer service when something goes wrong? Or simply the lowest price?

That's what we wanted to know. Directly from you.

The Results: Best Refurbished Retailer According to the Community

Here's the ranking, based on your votes and comments.

1. Refurbed (34% of votes)

Refurbed takes the lead. Close, but clear.

The most common reasons from your comments:

  • "Best product selection, not just phones"

  • "Had two issues, both solved immediately"

  • "I like the tree-planting thing, even if it's marketing"

One user wrote: "My MacBook arrived in better condition than advertised. I only buy there now."

There was criticism too: Some found prices higher than competitors. That's partly true, especially for older models.

2. Rebuy (28% of votes)

Rebuy lands in second place. The Stiftung Warentest winner has loyal fans.

What convinced you:

  • "36 months warranty. That's insanely good."

  • "German company, German support"

  • "Fast shipping, every time"

One comment stuck with us: "With Rebuy, I know what I'm getting. No surprises. That matters more to me than the absolute lowest price."

The criticism? Product selection is smaller than the marketplaces.

3. Back Market (23% of votes)

Back Market is the price champion. The marketplace model divides opinion.

The fans say:

  • "Best prices, period."

  • "Real photos of the actual device, love it"

  • "More selection than anywhere else"

The critics:

  • "Quality varies depending on the seller"

  • "Support was a disaster for me"

A fair point from the community: "Back Market isn't a retailer, it's a marketplace. You need to check the seller, not just the platform."

4. Swappie (15% of votes)

Swappie has a smaller but loyal following. The iPhone specialist scores with Apple fans.

What you like:

  • "They know iPhones inside and out"

  • "Battery quality always top notch"

Downside: iPhones only. If you want Samsung or other brands, you'll need to look elsewhere.

What Surprised Us

Three things stood out:

Customer service beats price. Most of you didn't name the lowest price as the most important criterion. Instead: "What happens when something goes wrong?" The warranty and support for problems make the difference.

Transparency counts. Real product photos, honest condition descriptions, clear warranty terms. Anyone who cuts corners here loses trust.

Sustainability is a bonus, not a buying reason. Almost all of you find the environmental aspect nice. But hardly anyone buys refurbished because of it. Price and quality decide.

Your Opinion is Still Missing

The ranking is a snapshot. The community grows, experiences change.
